Job Description & Requirements
Experienced Ski Technician
Who are you?
A highly motivated and friendly individual who wants to be a part of our team of experienced ski technicians. Your attention to detail is stellar and your ability to organize a variety of approaching deadlines is strong. You’re friendly, approachable, and helpful in a busy work environment, but also patient and calm under pressure and quick turnaround times. You’re physically competent--you probably ski, board, run, bike, hike, climb, swim, paraglide, sled dog race, or some combination of the above. If not, that’s fine; we’ll just have more to talk about if you do. You’re okay with working 10 hours on your feet and are able to lift 10-20lb. (up to 40lb.) fast, frequently, and safely. You work best in a collaborative environment and thrive as a part of a team. You are a self starter, and able to prioritize a variety of tasks to meet deadlines. You are adaptable and comfortable with a fluctuating work environment. If you have a paid subscription to OpenSnow then you’ll fit right in.
Who are we?
We believe we have the best ski shop in the Denver area as well as the best ecommerce ski shop in North America. Part of the reason is that we are whole-heartedly committed to providing a great customer experience. We do not sell skis, we help our customers find the right gear for them. We are open year round and continue to dedicate ourselves to skiing. We love biking, running, and everything else you can do on mountains but we try to be the best at something and that thing is helping skiers get the gear they need.
What you'll do:
Mount customer skis and bindings
Mount, remount, re-remount
Answer customer and internal questions in relation to mounting/tuning
Check in services such as tunes, mounts, and repairs
Be flexible with responsibilities. We’re growing, and it’s exciting. But that means we have to assist other operations within Powder7 to make sure things are moving
Maintain a positive and friendly attitude to customers and coworkers alike
Perform DIN tests on automated Wintersteiger Safetronic
Communicate with the warehouse/shipping team
Occasional tuning responsibilities may arise
When you'll do it:
Starting immediately and working until March 31, 2022. In March, staffing levels are evaluated and considerations about the next year are made. There may be an opportunity to stay on as a full-time employee of the shop based on performance, work ethic, and the needs of the shop.
Peak season schedule (October - March) consists of 4 x 10hr shifts (8AM-6PM) with 2 consecutive days off. Off-season schedule (April - September) consists of 4 x 8hr shifts (8AM-4PM). During both seasons you will be scheduled on at least one weekend day, which in ski shop speak means two weekdays off (read: no lines, no crowds, no I-70 traffic). You must be available to work through the holiday season. Retail, baby.
What's in it for you?
Professional level coffee/espresso machine.
Discounts on gear.
Access to industry perks.
Company outings and events.
Ski pass reimbursements.
Lots of free lunches.
A kitchen full of snacks.
Delivering stoke to our customers one mount or tune at a time.
