Job Title:  In-house Sales Representative                               Department:  Sales

Reports To:  Sales Manager                                                   Travel Requirements: 60%+

Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday        

Grade Salary Classification: _40k – 60k Salary -  bonus potential

·         SUMMARY

The In-house Sales Representative will be expected to perform specific / professional sales in their Territory. The position will manage a territory, own a quota, and be expected to exceed activity expectations. Overnight travel is required. This position is not a customer service representative or a support role for outside sales. This is a sales position that is expected to grow revenue and produce. You would possess the ability to work independently, schedule your time and territory needs and provide sales coordination assistance to the Sales Manager.

 

·         IN-HOUSE SALES REPRESENTATIVE GENERAL DUTIES

1.       Grow Company Sales in assigned Territory(s) effectively and profitably.

2.       Maintains the Company’s industry-wide reputation for excellence of service.

3.       Resolve customer complaints and problems.

4.       Maintains direct personal contact with all assigned accounts and responds in a timely manner.

5.       Effectively present products and able to overcome barriers to close the sale. 

6.       Working directly with dealers on entry and modification of pre-season and ASAP orders as required.

7.       Traveling to visit dealers to clinic, present new products.

8.       Acts as a resource of ideas to dealers on how to promote and sell assigned product lines.

9.       Serve as technical support for dealers accessing online resources as necessary for program participation, registration, etc.

10.   Prepare, analyze, and present business reports for seasonally and yearly strategy meetings. 

11.   Work closely with our marketing team to create and assist in content creation.

12.   Extensive knowledge of the fly-fishing industry and small business retail.

13.   Create and distribute regular email campaigns monthly/seasonally.

 

·         SALES COORDINATION

1.       Participates in the development of sales programs, pricing and promotions targeted to both the dealer and the end user.

2.       Creating and organizing a dynamic travel calendar

3.       Coordination of and participation/presenting in annual industry trade shows and dealer events.

4.       Coordination of and participation in seasonal sales meetings.

 

·         COMPUTER SKILLS

1.       Demonstrates the ability to effectively use a computer and all software utilized by Umpqua Feather Merchants. Examples include PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and NAV etc.

2.       Committed to checking and responding to electronic messages (e-mail) from assigned accounts in a timely manner (24 hours or less).

3.       Experience with maintaining customer databases and CRM software.

 

·         PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

1.       Maintains a complete knowledge of all product lines.

2.       Keeps current on all new product offerings and product changes within product lines.

3.       Provides sales and product training to key dealership personnel as requested by the customer or Sales Manager.

4.       Maintains a personal library of sales and technical materials for all product lines.

5.       Familiarity with competitive product advantages and disadvantages.

6.       Provides competitive product, program, and pricing information

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

·         Exceptional organizational and time management skills

·         4+ years of sales and/or fly fishing/outdoor retail management experience.

·         Bachelor’s degree
