Job Description

The Regional Manager of Instruction is a responsible and motivated individual, passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience of climbing with others. They will oversee instructional classes, schedules and employees at The Cliffs NYC locations (LIC, Gowanus, Harlem, DUMBO). Report to facility and HQ management teams regarding gym instruction and indoor school programs. Organize and facilitate outings for The Cliffs Outdoors*. Inspect, maintain and keep a log of climbing-related equipment for the gym. *The Cliffs Outdoor responsibilities subject to experience and evaluation.

Roles + Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, review + evaluate instructors
  • Scheduling of instructors and classes
  • Update and make changes to classes and instructional offerings
  • Respond to emails from participants, staff, and management
  • Commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction
  • Reporting and analysis of class numbers
  • Assist gym staff with climbing-related questions and skills
  • Instruct advanced-skills classes (Indoor School)
  • Instruct outdoor skills classes (Outdoor School) + general (toprope) trips
  • Maintain, log, inspect and inventory all climbing-related equipment
  • Travel between NYC facilities
