WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Buyer will be responsible for maximizing profitability of the categories they manage by honing selection, increasing sell-through and maximizing margin dollars.? This role requires rigorous prioritization to find a balance between adequate stock level, space allocation and turn of inventory.? This person will also be responsible for assisting the greater buying team with the upload and management of purchase orders to the Point-of-Sale system.?

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Select, purchase and manage product for the Climbing, Print & Watersports categories at two locations by placing preseason orders by deadlines from vendors.
Accountability for category merchandise by monitoring inventory levels and adjusting preseason orders or placing asap orders based on sales trends, sell through and open-to-buy reporting.
Input product data and purchase orders and maintain purchase order accuracy for entire merchant team.?
Actively participate in line previews and attend trade shows as needed.?
Collaborate with store operations and marketing teams to develop and execute strategies to drive sales through co-op advertising and additional vendor partnership opportunities.
Support store sales team through product knowledge training, merchandising and sales floor staffing as needed.?
Plan, orchestrate, and help execute markdowns.
Participate In physical Inventory counts.
Collaborate with vendors by representing the store in a positive way to create partnerships that are mutually beneficial, but keeping our needs at the forefront.
Other duties as requested by direct supervisor.

Must be able to report and work in-person at Boulder, CO office. Limited remote work possible.
Required Professional Skills
Capacity to understand historical and current trends in the outdoor industry and local area.
An understanding of what motivates consumers to buy individual products.?
Ability to analyze data and utilize information to make major decisions.?
Experience with MS Office and POS/Inventory Management systems.
Capable of negotiating terms.
Experience with essential retail math, including working within an open-to-buy, inventory turns goals and analysis of margins preferred.
Physical Requirements
A combination of sedentary work that involves sitting/standing, as well as physical activity such as walking/movement around the business, offsites venues, and outdoors. Lifting and/or moving objects up to 25 pounds. The employee is often required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Typical tasks require ability to actively work in outdoor areas and indoor building spaces.
WHAT WE OFFER
Pay Range: $55,000 to $65,000 annually depending on experience.
Year-round full-time employment.
Performance and project-based bonuses.
Full time employees eligible for Group Health Insurance with subsidy.
Vacation accrual after 60 days of employment.
Profit Sharing after 2 years of full-time employment.
